You Know You’re a Christian Fundamentalist When

1. You get more concerned with the rights of certain white nationalists propagating hate than you do the minority people being hurt by their actions.

2. You get upset when people say “Happy Holidays” instead of “Merry Christmas” but are completely unaware of the wasteful, shallow consumption that the holiday promotes.

3. If watching someone in line at the grocery store make use of food stamps upsets you and yet you’re blind to the institutional and cultural structures that have placed them there; you’re a Fundamentalist.

4. If violence in Hollywood upsets you and yet you are the first person to buy tickets to the Passion of the Christ— you fit the bill nicely.

5. You get enraged when the government tries passing laws to restrict gun usage yet you’re unaware of the accidental and purposeful firearm related deaths in America.

6. When someone commits a sinful act your community feels is wrong you will do everything possible to remove them while neglecting to ask “what would Jesus really do?”

7. You’re literal reading of the Bible is at odds with science and history and yet you’ll demonize them rather than ask the deeper, probing questions because your TRUTH must be protected while ACTUAL truth is expelled from your sanctuaries.

8. When hearing of gay marriage or a transgender person using the same facilities as you; you are outraged and yet the violence, hate and discrimination these people face is ignored by a community actively calling themselves followers of the Jewish rabbi whose ministry was chiefly centered on bringing the marginalized INTO community.

9. You’re a fundamentalist if you’re offended that I ended on 9 rather than 10 because you need your bullet point formulas to be easy to follow and numerically concise.
