We’ve all watched the pageants. We’ve laughed and smiled as our adorable kiddos play their parts in various nativity scenes. There will be camels, donkeys, and sometimes even lobsters, yes, nativity lobsters. While this is all very cute we often miss the far reaching depth of this narrative. What if the first century Jewish writers were attempting to tell something far deeper than a children’s story. What if their narrative actually caused people to reconsider their weapons of choice? Today we’ll continue discussing the Hero’s Journey and the moment when the Hero gains their greatest weapon, the only weapon that could defeat the dragon. For the hero and for you and me this weapon always comes as a surprise and is often the hardest to learn to wield.
