For many of us it’s easy to see the Divine in outward images and ideas but deep within most religious constructs is a different framework that observes the miraculous deep within one’s self. From the ancients to Jesus, this idea is found everywhere. From the music we sing communally to the words spoken over us; the truth is there and sometimes all we need is for someone to clean and clear the glass to see it within ourselves.

Thanks Tony. This view is really helpful for me. I feel like the “temple” idea has been used to hurt and shame other people, those of us who have tattoos and piercings, who use that to authentically express ourselves and make those images as part of our story.
I think I’m on that journey to see myself differently, but I know I still have some internal work to uproot the harmful ideas I’ve normalized. I’m glad there is a community here that I can share my struggles and thoughts without judgment.
